A mixed farming operation with citrus, wine grapes, plums and seasonal vegetables is looking for a practical, reliable person to take responsibility for the workshop, tractors and pumps. Accommodation will be provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mechanical maintenance and fault-finding on farm vehicles, tractors and equipment.
- Support and supervision of tractor operators, water personnel and the workshop assistant.
- Inspect and maintain pumps, water channels, water locks and related infrastructure.
- Manage stock in the workshop and chemical store.
- Assist with other farm tasks and maintenance work when required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Strong mechanical background and practical experience.
- Ability to independently identify and resolve problems.
- Respect for co-workers, a neat work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Good Afrikaans or English communication skills.
- Code 10 driver’s licence and PDP will be advantageous but are not essential.
- Good problem-solving skills.
